LEEK AREA
Rate of pay – £8.50 per hour at all times.
• Leisure mileage expenses 40p per mile - tax free, paid only when taking your employer out, not for travelling to or from your home to his.
• Plus 5.6 weeks pro rota holiday pay per year
• Salary paid on a 4 weekly basis
Hours – up to 4 hours per week.
You will be required to provide support for up to 4 hours per week. It may be necessary to request that you are flexible with your hours depending on your employers needs.
Hours are envisaged to be used during an evening however the day may vary from week to week. Further information regarding hours will be discussed at interview.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Your main work environment will start at the employer’s home which is in the Leek area of Staffordshire.
Purpose of Job
The employer is a friendly, kind gentleman who requires support to access facilities he currently experiences difficulty to do independently.
This young man has Asperger’s Syndrome, hypothyroidism & dyspraxia which make certain activities very difficult for him.
He would like assistance to enable him to be as independent and as in control as possible.
As personal assistant you will be directed by and accountable to your employer in all aspects of your work. You should ask what his needs are and listen to his directions and requests. You should follow the guidance, discussing and taking his advice in all areas of your work.
Main Duties
You will be required to escort this young man to activities of his choice outside of his home. He enjoys going to the theatre, eating out and general socialization. He would also like to access the film theatre and cinema.
You would be expected to demonstrate respect, kindness and understanding to your employer at all times.
It would be the role of the personal assistant to support your employer with paperwork and record keeping following each activity out.

Essential Criteria
THE EMPLOYEE MUST:
- be aware and understand the need for confidentiality of
your employer
- Hold a full clean driving licence. Fully Comprehensive insurance with business class extension is essential for the post. The cost of this will NOT be met by the employer
- be friendly, outgoing, creative and imaginative and have an easy going personality with a young outlook on life
- be patient, supportive and have a good sense of humour
- respect and understand the need for privacy of your employer and maintain your employers dignity at all times
- Offer commitment, drive and enthusiasm.
- Be reliable and punctual
- Non smoker preferred
- Positive re-disability issues.

- Experience of supporting someone with similar difficulties would be advantageous.
