personal assistant required to join a small team to support a young man who has autism for up to 16 hours per week. It would be necessary to be flexible with your hours; you may be required to work mainly days, usually between 9am and 3pm, also one Saturday evening in three. This will be discussed and agreed with you with at least one weeks notice. More information regarding hours would be discussed at an informal interview. You may be asked to provide cover during times of sickness or annual leave.
This young man enjoys going out for walks and accessing a variety of social activities, you would be required to support him with this.
You would also be required to support this young man to develop his skills in activities of daily life in order for him to become more independent.
Experience of the autistic spectrum disorder would be advantageous. Additional training can be accessed for the right candidate. An enhanced CRB check would be required for this post at no cost to you.
Rate of pay £7.20 per hour
