Local Counter Fraud Specialist
Location: Stoke/North
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000


This is a good opportunity to be a Fraud Investigator, NHS Local Counter Fraud Specialist.


Duties and Responsibilities:


To be a qualified / accredited (LCFS, CFS or PINS) and experienced Counter Fraud Specialist.
To have a good knowledge of the NHS
To have a working knowledge and understanding of the role of Internal Audit
An ability to work independently and as part of a team
Possesses a full, clean driving licence
To investigate allegations or suspicions of fraud and corruption as directed by the company line management, on behalf of clients; and, in line with the relevant legislation issued by the Secretary of State for Health, in accordance with the NHS Fraud and Corruption Manual
To prepare annually, and revise when applicable, NHS counter fraud workplans detailing the work to be delivered in 7 generic areas of counter fraud work
Developing an anti-fraud culture, prevention, detection, deterrence, investigation, sanctions and redress
To undertake proactive testing (`fraud auditing`) of identified fraud risk areas within an organisation so as to determine whether such areas have been subject to fraud or abuse
To prepare detailed reports of all counter fraud work delivered and present this to both line and client management
To work in other, non-NHS, public sectors as directed by management
To prepare regular progress and annual reports of all counter fraud work as required by both line and client management
To progress investigations where applicable to prosecution stage including the preparation of a prosecution file, in accordance with PACE, CPIA and other relevant legislation
Experienced in undertaking witness and suspect interviews (in accordance with PACE).
Experienced in undertaking surveillance duties in accordance with RIPA
